Currently, China has implemented a 72-hour visa-free transit policy at four open ports in three provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities), applicable to citizens of 54 countries.
Countries Eligible for Visa-Free Transit:
- Western and Central Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco
- Eastern Europe: Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Belarus
- Americas: United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile
- Asia: South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, UAE, Qatar
- Oceania: Australia, New Zealand
Policy Description:
Nationals of the above countries, holding valid international travel documents and tickets for connecting flights within the specified timeframe, can apply for the visa-free transit policy at the designated ports of entry in China. Upon entry, the border inspection authorities will handle temporary entry procedures. The visa-free stay is calculated from midnight the day after entry.
