2024 List of Prohibited Items for Entry into China Customs

• Various weapons, imitation weapons, ammunition, and explosive items
• Counterfeit currency and counterfeit negotiable securities
• Printed materials, films, photographs, records, videos, audio tapes, laser discs, computer storage media, and other items harmful to China’s politics, economy, culture, or morals
• Various highly toxic substances
• Opium, morphine, heroin, cannabis, and other narcotics or psychoactive drugs that cause addiction
• Animals, plants, and their products carrying dangerous pathogens, pests, or other harmful organisms
• Foods, medicines, or other items from epidemic areas that are harmful to human or animal health or that can spread diseases

Items Prohibited by China Customs for Carrying or Mailing into the Country

Animal and Animal Products:

• Live animals (excluding dogs and cats): including all mammals, birds, fish, crustaceans, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and other invertebrates, as well as animal genetic material
• Meat (including offal) and its products (both raw and cooked)
• Aquatic animal products: excluding dried, cooked, or fermented sauces made from aquatic animals
• Animal-derived milk and dairy products: including raw milk, pasteurized milk, sterilized milk, processed milk, fermented milk, cream, butter, cheese, condensed milk, etc.
• Eggs and egg products: including fresh eggs, century eggs, salted eggs, egg liquid, eggshells, mayonnaise, etc.
• Bird’s nest: excluding commercially sterilized canned bird’s nests
• Fats, skins, raw wool, hooves (claws), bones, teeth, horns, and their products: excluding processed and cleaned eggshells, hooves (claws), bones, horns, shells, crustaceans, and other crafts without blood, muscle, and fat
• Animal-derived feed, animal-derived Chinese medicine materials, and animal-derived fertilizers

Plants and Plant Products:

• Fresh fruits and vegetables
• Fresh cut flowers
• Tobacco leaves
• Seeds, seedlings, and other plants, plant products, and materials with reproductive capability
